Building an Effective Case for Court

Proving cohabitation is not always a simple process. If you haven't already, we recommend that you read our page on Building an Effective Case for Court.

126 Hours Over 6 Months

Penrith Detectives recommend at at least 126 hours surveillance in the 6 month (24 weeks) period to give the judge the longest possible time frame to consider.

Surveillance would be carried out in the first week over three mornings and then repeated on the same evenings. The objective is to record the subject exiting the property to travel to work in the morning and returning to the address in the evening.

Surveillance is then suspended after week 1 and would resume in the same way in weeks 5, 9, 14, 19 and 24 but on different days, e.g. If surveillance was carried out previously on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then further surveillance would be carried out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We advise we do the surveillance at the beginning, middle and end of the investigation to show the judge that this is an ongoing thing and not just a ‘one off’.

Penrith Detectives can supply you with agent witness statements to add weight to your case. Reports are presented in accepted formats for all courts and the Child Maintenance Service.
